Q: Is the app tracking me all day?

A: No the app does not track you all day. When you clock in / out the app records your location at that exact moment using GPS. The app then switches off and does not track any of your movements during the day.

Q: How much data does the app use?

A: Please see below example figures (based on Android Passport v2.8.25 / IOS Passport v.2.8.16):

  • Clock In / Out (2 photos) = 380 kb

  • Add a Field Note = 450 kb

  • Add a Project = 250 kb

Q: How much does it cost me each time I use the app?

A: Chime Software has focused on compressing the data required when completing any tasks within the app to ensure the cost incurred by the end user is minimal. If using Wi-Fi there will be no cost to the individual. If using your own data, based on current pay as you go market data rates pls see below:

  • Clock In / Out = £0.0038p (this is to take 2 photos)

  • Add a field note = £0.0045p

  • Add a project = £0.0025p

Q: What happens if I forget or lose my phone? How do I clock in / out?

Q: If I need to use the help section on my app, it uses my personal WhatsApp page, can they see my personal chats?

A: No Chime cannot see any personal WhatsApp pages. The link in the app is to Chime’s business WhatsApp account and we can only see the direct conversation we are having with the individual.

Q: How do I receive the latest updates of the App?

A: On both Android and IOS Devices you can select auto download so you will automatically receive the latest update as soon as this is released. Alternatively, when you visit the App Store or Google Play Store it will highlight if a new Chime Mobile app update is available.

Q: What happens if I log out of the app and forget my password?

A: There is a link on the front page of the app called “Forgot your password”. If you select this and enter your mobile number it will send you a new password.
